HANS H. STEIN

Professor of Nutrition,

Hans H. Stein is a Professor of Nutrition in the Division of Nutritional Sciences and the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, USA, where he has responsibilities in research, Extension, and teaching. His research focuses on feed ingredient evaluation, digestibility and utilization of energy and nutrients by pigs and humans, and development of systems for accurate diet formulation. Dr. Stein has mentored approximately 145 Graduate students, Post-doctoral research fellows, interns, and visiting scientists. He has authored or co-authored approximately 390 peer-reviewed publications, 462 research abstracts, 88 conference proceedings, 125 extension bulletins, and 18 book chapters. He has given invited presentations on nutrition in 41 countries.

GONZALO G. MATEOS

Professor of Animal Science,
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain.
Gonzalo G. Mateos holds a BS in Animal Production for the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a DVM and PhD in Veterinary Science for the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and a PhD in Animal Science (Poultry), and a post-doc position for Iowa State University. He has published 152 papers in SCI Journals and given more than 600 seminars, lectures, communications, and posters at International congresses in more than 45 countries. He work for the animal feed industry in Europe for many years and and he is professor of Animal Science at Madrid University since 2005. In addition, he was Editor in Chief of the Scientific Journal Animal Feed Science and Technology (2005-2013) and a member of the Editorial Board of Poultry Science and Animal Feed Science and Technology, in recent years.

PAUL J. MOUGHAN

Dr.Paul J. Moughan was appointed to the foundation chair in monogastric biology at Massey University in 1993 and from 1997-2003 was Foundation Head, Institute of Food, Nutrition and Human Health, Massey University.
From 2003 until 2017 he was Foundation Co-Director of the Riddet Institute, hosted by Massey University. He currently holds the positions of Distinguished Professor at Massey University and Riddet Institute Fellow Laureate. He has published in excess of 500 scientific works. In 1995 he was awarded Doctor of Science and in 1997 was awarded a Personal Chair at Massey University and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Cambridge, England.
In 2011 he was appointed Chair of the FAO Expert Consultation to review recommendations on the characterisation of dietary protein quality in humans, and has been a frequent contributor to FAO and WHO expert committees. He has received numerous awards, including the New Zealand Prime Minister’s Science Prize in 2012.
In 2014 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Guelph, Canada and in 2018 the Wageningen University Medal of Honour.
In 2015 he was appointed to the Global Food and Nutrition Security Project, Leopoldina, Germany, under the auspices of the international partnership of science academies (IAP). He was invited (2021) to author a regional IAP policy briefing for the UN Food Systems Summit

Dr. Seksom Attamangkune

Dr. Seksom Attamangkune is a prominent figure in tropical animal nutrition, widely recognized for his contributions to monogastric livestock research—particularly in poultry and swine. With over three decades of academic and professional service, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Thailand’s livestock industry through both science and mentorship.
A former Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Kasetsart University (Kamphaeng Saen Campus), Dr. Seksom has led major research initiatives in feed efficiency, enzyme and vitamin supplementation, and sustainable tropical livestock systems. His academic excellence is matched by his legacy as a mentor—having trained and inspired numerous graduates who now serve in leadership roles across Thailand’s top agribusiness companies, feed manufacturers, and veterinary sectors.
Through national and international collaborations, impactful publications, and award-winning presentations, Dr. Seksom has helped bridge the gap between academic research and animal production industries, advancing the future of animal agriculture in Southeast Asia.

C. MARTIN NYACHOTI

Dr. C. Martin Nyachoti is a Professor at the University of Manitoba and a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Animal Science. He holds a B.Sc. (Agric.) from the University of Nairobi and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in animal nutrition (majoring in poultry and pig nutrition) from the University of Guelph. Dr. Nyachoti’s current research focuses on nutrition and gut health in the non-ruminant, energy and nutrient utilization, and feed ingredient evaluation.
Dr. Nyachoti has mentored over 50 graduate students and has served on Editorial Boards of several journals including Journal of Animal Science, Canadian Journal of Animal Science, and British Journal of Nutrition.
His current publication record includes over 290 peer-reviewed journal articles, and he has given over 100 invited presentations at national and international events.
His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Award for Excellence in Nutrition and Meat Sciences from the Canadian Society of Animal Science and the America Feed Industry Association Nonruminant Nutrition Award from the American Society of Animal Science.

PAIRAT SRICHANA

Dr. Pairat Srichana is the Senior Vice President at Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd., a global leader in the agro-industrial and food business. With over three decades of professional experience, Dr. Srichana has played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s animal nutrition and feed innovation strategies.
He earned his Ph.D. in Animal Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia (USA), and holds a Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition from Kasetsart University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.
Dr. Srichana’s expertise encompasses swine and poultry nutrition, feed formulation, feed management, and the development of animal feed products. Throughout his career, he has led numerous R&D initiatives to enhance feed efficiency, animal performance, and sustainability in livestock production.
At CP Group, Dr. Srichana has spearheaded several key innovations including:
- The development of precision feeding technologies tailored to genetic and environmental conditions.
- The use of functional feed additives to improve animal health and reduce antibiotic dependency.
- The formulation of eco-friendly feed solutions aligned with circular economy and carbon reduction goals.

ROMMEL C. SULABO

Dr. Rommel C. Sulabo is a Professor of Animal Science and UP Scientist at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, where he leads research in monogastric nutrition, particularly swine and poultry. He earned his Ph.D. in Animal Science from Kansas State University and completed postdoctoral training at both Kansas State and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has received numerous national distinctions, including the Philippine Society of Animal Science Distinguished Animal Scientist and the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists Outstanding Animal Nutritionist Award. Currently, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of The Philippine Agricultural Scientist and continues to mentor the next generation of animal nutritionists.

CHAIYAPOOM BUNCHASAK

Professor Dr. Chaiyapoom Bunchasak is a distinguished academic currently holding the position of Professor at the Department of Animal Science within the Faculty of Agriculture at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. With over 30 years of educational and professional experience, Dr. Chaiyapoom specializes in Agricultural Science, particularly in Animal Nutrition, having earned his PhD from Gifu University in Japan.
Throughout his career at Kasetsart University, Dr. Chaiyapoom has taken on several leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Animal Science and Chair of the Master’s Program in Industrial Animal Nutrition. He has significantly contributed to the field with more than 100 research publications and articles in both national and international academic journals, focusing on the use of methionine and amino acids in animal diets, aiming to promote sustainable agriculture.
In addition, Dr. Chaiyapoom has participated in sustainable agriculture projects at both national and international levels and has served as an invited speaker in several countries across Asia. He is also a member of various national and international committees, including the Egg Board and livestock associations in Thailand.

YUWARES RUANGPANIT

Assoc. Prof. Yuwares Ruangpanit graduated her Bachelor and Master in Animal Science from Kasetsart University,Thailand in 1992 and 1995,respectively. She completed her Ph.D. in Nutrition from North Carolina State University in 2004.
Currently, she is a lecturer in Mono-gastric animal nutrition at Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaengsaen, Kasetsart University, Thailand.
Her research of interest is the application of feed additives and nutraceuticals to improve gut health and product quality of mono-gastric animals under tropical conditions, nutritional evaluation, and application of alternative energy and protein feed ingredients for poultry and swine.
Her responsible research also involves in the egg value-added for human health and well-being.

Dr. M. Reza Abdollahi
Associate Professor of Poultry Nutrition Massey University, New Zealand
A2Z Feed DynamikZ, France

Dr Reza Abdollahi is currently affiliated with the Monogastric Research Centre, at Massey University as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Poultry Nutrition. He is also founder of “A2Z Feed DynamikZ”, an international independent research and consultancy firm based in France. Dr Abdollahi received his PhD from Massey University, New Zealand on the influence of feed processing on the performance, nutrient utilization, and gut development of poultry.
He has published in top-ranking Animal Science Journals and already has over 200 scientific communications, including 95 peer-reviewed articles and two book chapters, to his credit. As an invited and keynote speaker, Reza has presented his work at several international conferences such as European Poultry Conference (EPC, 2014), European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition (ESPN, 2017), International Broiler Nutritionists’ Conference (2014, 2017, 2024), FEDNA meeting (2018, 2024), Asia-Pacific Poultry Conference (2018), Australian Poultry Science Symposium (APSS, 2019), First International Feed Technology Conference (IFTC, 2019), 2021 PSA Annual Meeting, and more than 40 international industry workshops and conferences.
His research interest has a strong applied focus and is relevant to the poultry industry current challenges. His current interest is poultry nutrition focusing on feed processing, feed evaluation, and nutrient utilization.

YANHONG LIU

Dr. Yanhong Liu is the Associate Professor at the Department of Animal Science, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of California, Davis (UC Davis). She received her BS in Biological Science and MS in Animal Science from China Agricultural University (China), and her PhD in Animal Nutrition from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Dr. Liu’s lab at UC Davis is cross-disciplinary, with a focus on deploying feed-based health technologies to improve animal health.
Her major research interest is to develop new dietary approaches that may promote disease resistance and performance of pigs by investigating the impacts of dietary supplements on gut physiology and immunity and systemic immunity of pigs, especially in post-weaned period.
She is the recipient of the Hellman Fellowship Award (2019) and National Pork Board Swine Innovation Award (2012).

TANAWONG MAISON

Dr. Tanawong Maison is the Assistant Vice President in the Feed Technology Office at Charoen Pokphand Group, Thailand. He received a C.P. Group scholarship in 2010 to pursue doctoral studies in swine nutrition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Dr. Hans H. Stein. He earned his Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition in 2013.
Currently, Dr. Maison leads research programs focusing on the use of feed ingredients with in-depth evaluation at the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) level and studies on the relationship between dietary energy levels and animal performance. His work emphasizes practical application of research in commercial settings, aiming to optimize both efficiency and sustainability.
Dr. Maison also plays a key role in transferring research-based technologies and knowledge across CP operations in CLMVP countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and the Philippines), supporting regional development and innovation in animal nutrition.
His research projects have been recognized with CEO Awards for their innovation and impact on the company’s business.

Dr. Yongyuth Theapparat

Center of Excellence in Nutraceutical and Gastronomy. Faculty of Agro-Industry, Prince of Songkla University
Assistant Professor Dr. Yongyuth Theapparat is a prominent researcher specializing in nutraceuticals, functional foods, and the bioconversion of agricultural biomass into high-value products. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Prince of Songkla University and completed postdoctoral training in drug delivery systems at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
With over 20 international publications, a book chapter, and an innovation patent on a wound-healing hydrogel derived from oil palm wood vinegar, Dr. Theapparat has made significant contributions to sustainable health innovations. His research integrates microbiota analysis, metabolomics, bioactive compounds, and smart delivery technologies for both human and animal health applications.
He has been recognized with numerous awards, including:
- Outstanding Thailand Researcher Award (2023–2024)
- Outstanding Agricultural Researcher Award (2024)
- International Innovation Award (2022–2023)
Dr. Theapparat is currently leading multiple interdisciplinary projects focused on converting agricultural waste into valuable resources for the agri-food, biomedical, and veterinary sectors. His work has been presented at several international conferences across Europe and Asia.

KOONPHOL PONGMANEE

Dr. Koonphol Pongmanee is a senior lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen, Kasetsart University, Thailand. He holds a Ph.D. in Poultry Nutrition from the University of Alberta, Canada. His research expertise centers on poultry nutrition, bone and eggshell quality, and the metabolism of vitamins and minerals in laying hens. With more than 10 ongoing and completed research projects and over 20 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals, Dr. Pongmanee is recognized for his contributions to sustainable poultry production. He has also delivered over 40 invited talks, oral, and poster presentations at scientific conferences across Asia, North America, and Europe.
Dr. Pongmanee currently serves as Vice-Head of Department for Research and Academic Services and is an active member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) at Kasetsart University.

SU A LEE

Dr. Su A Lee is a Research Scientist at the University of Illinois where she works under the mentorship of Dr. Hans H. Stein. Her academic journey includes earning BS and MS degrees in Animal Science from Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea, followed by a PhD degree in Animal Sciences from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Lee’s research expertise includes work to conduct various swine nutrition experiments related to digestibility and body utilization of nitrogen and amino acids, minerals, and energy, as well as use of feed additives and feed technology. Her responsibilities during her postdoctoral tenure also involve managing data from net energy experiments conducted in the swine calorimeter unit. She has published 52 manuscripts as a first author or co-author, 3 book chapters, and 68 abstracts.

Somphob Auesongtham
Thai Feed Mill Association, Thailand.

Somphob Auesongtham is the current Secretary General of the Thai Feed Mill Association (TFMA), a role he has held since 2023. He previously served as Deputy Secretary General from 2016 to 2022, during which he played an instrumental role in advancing Thailand’s feed industry and strengthening partnerships with global stakeholders.
Under his leadership, TFMA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) to promote sustainable sourcing of feed ingredients in Thailand. Somphob is also a regular speaker at public forums addressing trade policy, taxation, and economic issues impacting the agribusiness sector.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Chulalongkorn University (1996) and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering Management from Assumption University (2000).
